Founded in 1996, Kalajoen Teräs Oy is a modern steel company operating in Finland and the Nordic countries, and is a part of the Fergo Group. Our engineering workshop employs around 40 professionals, with efficient production ensured by our modern 2,100-square-meter facilities and the latest 10 kW fiber laser technology. Our goal is to develop as part of the Fergo Group and achieve a leading market position in the industry.

We manufacture and install high-quality bridge and road structures with over 20 years of solid experience. We supply road and bridge guardrails, noise barriers, pedestrian bridges, and maintenance walkways fully in accordance with client specifications. We take care of surface treatment, delivery to the site, and perform comprehensive on-site installation when required.

We manufacture high-quality, durable steel structures in accordance with client specifications. Our versatile expertise covers load-bearing steel structures, frame structures, bridges, brackets, columns, grandstand structures, facade structures, and various engineering workshop products. Products are delivered to the site surface-treated and professionally installed, always ensuring a refined and safe final result.
BRIDGES, RAILINGS AND STRUCTURES
INSTALLATION SERVICES
Our efficient 10-person installation team operates extensively throughout Finland. With solid expertise, we install bridge guardrails, road guardrails, and various steel structures for both our own and our clients’ projects. Our up-to-date and safe equipment ensures reliable project completion, even under tight schedules.

EN 1090 -CERTIFICATION:
Manufacture of steel structures and factory production control (EXC1-EXC2).
EN 1317-5 – Tieh H2:
Product certification for steel Tieh H2 bridge guardrails.
STEEL GUARDRAIL INSTALLATION:
Steel guardrail installation according to the Finnish Transport Infrastructure. Certified installation of steel guardrails in accordance with InfraRYL requirements.
In spring 2024, our cutting capacity was expanded with a new Bystronic laser cutting machine featuring a 10 kW fiber laser. The machine has a working area of 1,500 × 3,000 mm. In our operations, highly precise cutting results have been achieved with material thicknesses of up to 20 mm. The cutting capacity expansion project was partially funded by the EU.

PART OF THE FERGO GROUP
In August 2026, Kalajoen Teräs Oy became part of the Fergo Group. Fergo Oy acts as the parent company of the group and is owned by the Finnish investment and development company Andament Oy.
The aim of this arrangement is to strengthen cooperation, competitiveness, and growth opportunities among the group companies. Kalajoen Teräs will continue to operate under its own name, with the same familiar staff and current contact persons. The arrangement will not cause any changes to our customer relationships; all contracts and daily cooperation will continue as normal.
The Fergo Group combines the expertise of Steel Group Pohjanmaa Oy, WeldOne Oy and Kalajoen Teräs. The group structure strengthens the companies’ expertise, resources, and delivery capabilities, creating an even better foundation to serve our customers in the future.
